what will happen to the melon if its rots , in the poem "the tale of melon city" ?

Dear student,

The people were least bothered about who was their king and what would happen to it. The people had nothing to with the melon king. The subjects did not care about the perishable king and thus, even if it would rot, they would not be affected.
