what would happen if agriculture was stopped in our country?

If agriculture was stopped then it will hard hit the consumers, their diet would become less balanced. Our country would  have to depend on other countries for food and we will have to import food from other countries. Importing food from other countries raises the prices of the commodities such as vegetables, pulses, fruits etc. Indians would not be able to afford for their food. We would have to change our diet and depend on other sources of food.

Good question !Agricultural lands are to be preserved and high rise buildings are to be allowed to meet the housing demand. Otherwise by selling one Kg of Silver one may have to buy 1 Kg of food

If you study demographic history, you learn that population growth of 0.5% or higher is impoverishing and destroys economic growth. As population growth exceeds economic agricultural production growth, and as a function of crowding, population crash results. With a reduction of agricultural land, there is less food produced, prices rise, people cannot afford food and either stop producing more mouths to feed until they rebalance population economics, or else Mother Nature reduces population for them.India's maximum carrying capacity has been reduced by overpopulation to 300 million. Emigration does NOT solve the problem of overpopulation; it exacerbates it at home and abroad! So what India Indians have been doing is exactly the wrong thing to do. India either "stops at one" until population is reduced, or Mother Nature is going to do it for you. And that is not pretty
