What would happen if all the cells of our body were of the same shape and size?
Cells are of different shape, size and structure according to the function they need to perform. So, if all the cells become of same size, shape and structure, it will be very difficult for multicellular organisms including humans to adapt better to the environment and survive. Also, the division of labour among the cells will be lost thus leading to difficulties in survival.
If all the cells of our body are of the same shape our whole body structure would change. For example lets take the neurons the basic unit of the nervous system. If they arent long many no. of cells would have been in need. And in muscle cell all the cells together forms a beautiful structure and if the shape would have been the same, many no. of cells would have been formed. And this will cause us to eat a lot for energy production inside the cell.
