Mandela gave examples of extraordinary men who showed courage, generosity and wisdom in a way that he believes rarely anyone would possess again. He explains that these men taught him the true meaning of courage and with these comrades he went to prison. That was when he witnessed that even if one of the guards showed some compassion towards them, his faith in humanity returned.
