What would you observe when Sodium hydroxide is added to aluminum chloride first little then in excess?

When sodium hydroxide is first added to AlCl3 , it starts to ionize first in Aluminium and chloride ions which on further adding excess of NaOH reacts with sodium and hydroxide ions to prepare Aluminium hydroxide and sodium chloride as follows:

AlCl3 -> Al3+ + 3Cl-

 3NaOH -> 3Na+ + 3OH-

 Al3+ + 3Cl- + 3Na+ + 3OH-  ->  3Na+ + 3Cl- + Al(OH)3

Hence, the complete reaction is,

 AlCl3 + 3NaOH ->3NaCL + Al(OH)3
