when 200ml of 1.2m hcl is mixed with 100ml of water then what will be the new molarity of the solution after dilution
Dear student,
For calculating molarity of solution on dilution, we use the formula-
M1V1=M2V2
where M1 = 1.2, V1 =200 ml, V2 = 300 ml (total volume of solution =200+100 ml), M2= final molarity of solution.
1.2 x 200 = M2 x 300
M2 = 240/ 300
M2 = 0.8 M.
