when 50g of sugar is added to 100ml of water ,and stirred with a glass rod then it dissolves quickly. But the level of water remains same because when sugar is dissolved in water ,the particles of sugar get int o the spaces between the particles of water

So,this observation suggests that particles of matter have space between them
