When a tank is filled half by water, its weight is 20kg. When its weighed completely , its weight is 38 kg. Find the weight of an empty tank

Dear Student
Weight of Tank is 2 kg.
Because
Full tank = 38 kg.
Half-full tank =  20 kg.
Amount of water for half full = 38-20=18 kg

The amount of water is TWO halves so 18+18=36 kg. is the amount of water that the full tank holds.

If v is weight of the tank, and 36 is the weight of just the water, then 36+v=38. Solving for v, find v=38-36,
v=2 kg.

The tank is 2 kg.
