When does a lightbulb carry more current-just after it is turned on and the glow of the metal filament is increasing, or after it has been on for a few milliseconds and the glow is steady? Why?

Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:
  • In the cold condition, the resistance offered by light bulb is more when compared to hot condition of the filament.
  • As the resistance is less in the case of just turned on, the light bulb carries more current
  • So, the light bulb carries more current just after it is turned on and the glow of the metal filament is increasing.
