When is the tree really killed.

Dear Student,
In the poem On Killing A Tree, poet Gieve Patel proclaims that a tree cannot be merely slain by chopping of its branches as it has taken many years to root itself to the soil. Years of gradual toil along with the required conditions for its growth, has enable the plant to stand firmly. Thus, the simple act of cutting its branches will further initiate the process of its regrowth and soon it will get back its former thriving self. For killing a living plant, one needs to pull it out from its most sensitive core of the earth. The roots that had spread itself beneath the soil giving the tree strength, is pulled out and then exposed to the sunlight and wind for its eventual withering and death.
Regards.
