When to use simple present & simple past tenses

Dear Student,

Simple Present Tense describes the general facts, daily actions or events or actions that follow a regular routine.

Example: "Ravi's father walks in the park every morning".

"The leaves of plants perform the function of photosynthesis".

Simple Past Tense describes actions or habits in the past and uncertain or likely future actions.

Example: "He always turned up late for the first class in the morning".

"I did not eat dinner last night".

Best wishes!
