When two wires are in the gaps of the meter bridge, the balance
point was foun d to be 1/3m from the zero end When a 6ohm coil is
connected in series with the smaller of the the two ressistance,
the balancing point is shifted to 2/3m from the same end Find the
resistance of the wires?

We know for meter bridge

Assume R < S, For R and S, l1 = 1/3m Then, $R = \frac{S / 3}{1 - (1 / 3)} = \frac{S / 3}{2 / 3} = \frac{S}{2}$ (i) Now a 6 ohm resistor is in series with R, then l1 = 2/3m Then, $(R + 6) = \frac{S * 2 / 3}{1 - (2 / 3)} = \frac{S * 2 / 3}{1 / 3} = 2 S = > R + 6 = 2 * 2 R = > R = 3 Ω S o, S = 6 Ω$
