When we comb our hair and bring the comb near bits of paper, why does the paper jump?

Dear student
When we comb our hair , the free electrons on hair jump to the comb and this comb when brought near paper bits leads to bits of paper jumping towards the comb, this is due to the static charge or static electricity. This mainly occurs in dry atmosphere, where there is no moisture that leads to generation of static charge.
