WHEN WE PUT CARBOXYLIC GROUP IN WATER H FROM OH LEAVES AS O IS ELECTRONEGATIVE SO MORE OF H+IONS ARE THERE SO ACIDIC  PROPERTY AM I RIGHT  ??? HOW IS IT FOR AMINE

The solution is as follows:

When carboxylic acids are added in water, then, the following reaction takes place:

    RCOOH(aq) + H2O(l) RCOO-(aq) + H3O+(aq)

The release of hydronium ions signifies the acidic property of carboxylic acids.

But, when amines are added to water, the following reaction takes place:

      RNH2(aq) + H2O (l)  RNH3+(aq) + OH-(aq)

The release of hyroxyl ions signifies the basic property of amines.
