Where and why the release factors used in translation in prokaryotic cell ?. illustrate with an diagram.

Dear student,
Release factor is important in release of polypeptide synthesised on ribosomes and also helps in disassemble of release factor with ribosome. Release factor binds to the A site of the ribosome instead of t RNA and causes addition of water molecule instead of amino acids. There are three release factors in prokaryotic translation RF1, RF2 and RF3. RF1 recognises stop codon UAA and UAG, RF2 recognises stop codon UAA and UGA, RF3 promotes termination and helps in dissociation. Release factor helps in dissociation of ribosome with polypeptide and mRNA.
