Where do we find osmosis in nature

Dear Student,

A very common example of osmosis is when we place raisins in water, they swell is size as water enters into it due to endosmosis.
Whereas, when raisins are kept in salt solution they shrink in size because water leaves the cell due to exosmosis.

Another example of osmosis is: When we keep our fingers or toes for a long time in water, they will get pruned due to osmosis. The fingers appear to shrink but they are actually expanding as water enters our skin due to osmosis. The concentration of water is more outside as compared to our fingers.
