whether leather is biodegradable or non-biodegradable

pure leather( or raw leather ) is biodegradable but commercial leather( used for shoes, wallet,etc ) is treated with chemicals to make it long lasting so they are very difficult to decompose, hence commercial  leather are non biodegradable( sort of )

pure leather us biodegradable but leather used for making shoes And sandles is non biodegradable as it is treated with chemicals.

but, sometimes it is considered as or grouped in non biodegradable

yes ..cheap leathers are usually processed with chemicals .these are non biodegraable.because the decaying enzymes of decomposers do not work.but the leathers which are not processed in chemicals for biodegradable.
