Dear student
please find the answer to your query below

Lichens consist majorly of fungus. Their characteristic feature is they maintain a symbiotic relationship( biological interaction).
Example with cyanobacteria
Lichens are commonly found on the surface of rocks, Lichens exert chemical as well as physical forces on these rocks. They produce an effect of weathering on rocks by the release of the organic compounds. Out of which known the  Oxalic acid dissolves minerals and also chelate metal ions. Another organic acid produced by lichens is polyphenolic acid. Apart from these they also produce organic and inorganic salts(eg. iron oxides, aluminosilicates,  hydroxides)  these are chemicals or substances released by lichens during rock formation.
As far as physical effect is concerned lichens put pressure on rocks through fungal filaments called hyphae. Extending hyphae which penetrate into rocks.

Hope this information clears your doubts

Oxalic Acid.....

Oxalic acid secreted by many lichens is commonly considered to play a crucially important role in the chemical weathering of rocks and minerals.

This is confirmed by the universal occurrence of metal oxalates at the lichen?rock interface and in the lichen thallus itself, and by the fact that dissolution and precipitation of various rocks and minerals in the presence of oxalic acid can be demonstrated under experimental conditions.
