Which gas is produced on dehyrohalogenation of ethyl iodide?

Iodine is evolved in dehydrohalogenation of ethyl iodide.
Reaction takes place as :
CH₃-CH₂I + C₂H₅OH = CH₂=CH₂ + HI
Hence, iodine is produced from HI.
