The smallest cells in the human body are the Granule/Golgi neurons in the granular layer (innermost layer of grey matter) of Cerebellum. Some people say Sperm is a smallest cell but actually it is not why because The human sperm including flagellum (tail) is approximately 25um. The head of the sperm is on average 5um-6um. The Granule Cell of the Cerebellum is typically 4um - 4.5um thus making is smaller than the human sperm. The biggest cell by diameter in the human body is the oocyte; the human egg cell (also known as an ovum). The reason why I mention diameter is because there are some neurons in our body that can be up to a meter long the ones that go from our spinal cord and extend into our feet. The ovum however is 1000 micrometers in diameter, which is visible to the unaided eye.
