In half leaf experiment a part of the leaf is kept in test tube containing KOH which absorbs CO2 while the other half is exposed in air.
Both the portion of leaf was tested for starch, the exposed portion of leaf showed positive test for starch while portion that was in the test tube showed negative test for starch.
