which of the following is not true for sporophyte of pteridophyte ?

2 . it contain vascular tissues .
3 . it produce gametes .
4 . it is diploid .

Dear Student,

A sporophyte is a diploid multicellular stage in the life cycle of plant including Pteridophytes which develops from the zygote. it has a vascular system of xylem and phloem, often associated structural supporting tissue and is mostly organized into highly specialized stems, leaves and roots.

Sporophyte produces spores is followed by a haploid generation , the gametophyte or prothallus, which produces gamete. So option C is wrong .

Regards.
