My question is why can't lungs be harmed? They also have blood supply.

Dear student Please find below the solution of your asked query..answer is 3 Hypertension explains as the pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of arterial blood vessels during systole and diastole............as blood is supplied to the brain through a direct blood vessels ie., carotid arteries hence high pressure causes harm , kidneys are affected as blood is directly supplied through Dorsal aorta which is the immediate blood vessel branch as the aorta emerges out from left ventricle and heart is affected as we know that caronary arteries carry blood directly from aorta as a direct branch but the blood vessel that supply blood to the lungs is for gaseous exchange and high blood pressure affects the arteries of the lungs which is also known as pulmonary hypertension, .................hence in general we say that hypertension causes damage of brain , kidneys and heart. Hope the above mentioned explanation clears your doubts about the topic keep asking Regards
