which one is the fast process?

(a) evaporation

(b) boiling

(c) fusion

(d) none of these

Fusion is the fast process than boiling and evaporation.

Evaporation happens only at the surface of a liquid and occurs at any temperature as long as the substance is a liquid at that temperature.

Boiling is a more particular process where a liquid goes to the vapour state at the temperature (called boiling point) where the vapour pressure is equal to the ambient pressure.

Fusion is the heat energy required to convert 1 mole of solid into a liquid at its melting point is called the enthalpy of fusion.

If we take water as an example water freezes at around 0 to 20 degree C and it only has to raise around 10 degrees to start melting. However when it comes to boiling water we usually start around room temperature (around 25 degrees C) and have to go all the way up to the boiling point (100 degrees C) and evaporation of water takes much time at normal temperature. Hence Fusion is the fast process than evaporation and boiling.

Evaporation is  the spontaneous process.

But boiling is faster than evapporation
