Which plants give oxygen at night and why so?
Dear Student.
Please find below the solution to the asked query.
Some plants such as peepal, banyan perform a different type of photosynthesis known as crassulacean acid metabolism(CAM). There stomata remain closed during day to prevent the loss of water through transpiration. They take in carbon-dioxide at night and release oxygen but in very less amounts. However, they also release large amounts of oxygen at day time also but do not take CO2 during day.
Hope this information will clear your doubts about the topic.
