WHICH TENSE WILL BE IN USE WHEN A SENTENCE HAS UNTIL OR AS SOON AS(SIMPLE/CONTINOUS/PERFECT/PERFECT CONTINOUS)??

Hello student,

There is no set rule about a particular tense been assigned for the usage of ‘as son as’ and ‘until’ because it depends on the usage and the situation in which these phrases are being used.

However, commonly, ‘As soon as’ is used with Simple tense.

For instance,

As soon as he moves out, everybody starts laughing at him.

As soon as they met him, they made an opinion of him.

As soon as I visit her, I will give you a call.

Also, ‘until’ is most commonly used in Simple tense.

For instance,

I will not agree until you drink this glass of milk.

Until I complete the home-work please don’t switch-on the T.V.

Until the train comes don’t board.

They did not come until the meeting was half over.

He read until his guests arrived.

Hope these helped!
