Which term of the sequence 7.3, 6.9, 6.5, 6.1, .... is the first negative term?

The given sequence is 7.3, 6.9, 6.5, 6.1,....

This is an A.P. with first term, a = 7.3 and common difference, d = 6.9 – 7.3 = – 0.4

Let n^th term of the given sequence be the first negative term.

∴ n = 20

Thus, 20^th term is the first negative of the given A.P.
