while naming a compound where do we write iso??

"Iso" is the prefix to denote isomers of a compound i.e same molecular formula but different structure.

 Butane

If there are two or more different substituents they are listed in alphabatical order using the base name ( ignoring the prefixes). The only prefix which is usedwhenputting the substituents in alphabatiical order is "iso" as in isobutyl and isopropyl.
