who discovered the chemical effect of current and how?

Dear student

Luigi Galvani , an Italian professor accidently found out that an electric current flowed across two dissimilar metals.
It was Michael Faraday who studied extensively the passage of electricity through liquids. This process was called electrolysis, where the passage of electric current through a liquid causes chemical changes {in the liquid, as well as on the metal electrodes which are connected {anode and cathode} in the circuit.] and this is known as Chemical Effect of Current.
