The different streams of maths came into existence in different ways. The discovery of each stream has a separate story. Also, many different mathematicians have contributed to forming rules of maths. The term mathematics was used for the first time in the 6th century by Pythagoreans. They started studying mathematics as a separate discipline.
Eg:
1.The first recorded modern use of exponent in mathematics was in a book called "Arithemetica Integra," written in 1544 by mathematician Michael Stifel.
2. Euclid is credited with the discovery of geometry.
