Who referred education as to "Grave errors of the east"?

The Anglicists who were against Oriental Education thought that that Indian literature and philosophy is full of grave errors. They believed it would be better if they taught the more practical and useful knowledge of the west. For them investing in oriental education was a waste of time, resources, money and effort.

Two major anglicists were James Mill and Lord Macaulay. Lord Macaulay once wrote : " A single shelf of a good european library is equal to the whole native literature of India and Arabia" and James Mill point of view was to teach Indians western education because in his opinion, Indians were barbaric and needed to be civilised>
