Who was Amir Khusrau ?

  1. Amir Khusrau was a poet and Sufi musician lived in the 14th century. He was a follower of Nizammudin Auliya.
  2. He composed many poetries in Hindavi (Hindustani) and Persian languages. He was known as the ‘father of Qawwali’.
  3. Khusrau designed the musical instruments sitar and tabla. He played an important role in presenting Ghazal form of songs into India.
