Who was Henry? What role did he play in the lesson "The Midnight Visitor" ?

Henry was the waiter in the story. Ausable was expecting him because he had ordered for a drink. The latter had tricked Max into believing that the police was knocking the door, whereas it was only the waiter Henry who had come to serve the drinks. Max jumped out without knowing that there was no balcony either.
