Hitler was the leader of the German nationalist Nazi party. He was the Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and the head of state from 1934 to 1945. He is associated with the rise of Fascism in Europe. The Nazi party usurped power in Germany and Hitler ultimately became its dictator. His aggressive nationalism and expansionary policies were responsible for the outbreak of Second World War. He was also responsible for the death of more than six million Jews commonly known as the Holocaust. His aim to establish a new world order was thwarted by his defeat in the Second World War after which he committed suicide.
