Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the latter stages of the French Revolution. He introduced Civil Code in 1804 , came to be known as, the Napoleonic Code. He established hegemony over most of continental Europe and sought to spread the ideals of the French Revolution.

 Napoleon Bonaparte came to power as a military dictator. At that time, there was political instability in the country. The previous government was weak and needed a strong leader like Napoleon,
However, he soon fell from his position. He wanted to capture the neighbouring countries. His armies were viewed as an invading force. Women also lost their rights during his rule. He was defeated in the battle of waterloo by the duke of Wellington.
