Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norway were the first people who climbed the Mt.Everest. They reached the summit together at 11:30am on the 29th of May, 1953. They hugged each other and spent the next 15minutes on the highest spot in the world and then started climbing down. It is not important on who was the first person to put his foot on the summit. What was more important was the fact that they were the first people to have reached the highest spot in the world.
