Mr.Koch was Einstein's mathematics teacher.
Mr. Koch thought that Albert had an extremely good understanding of mathematics and that soon Albert would be able to teach him. He knew at a very early stage that Albert was not meant for school and that he would leave school to pursue higher studies in mathematics. Mr. Koch gave Albert a glowing reference to make sure that he was immediately ready to enter a college or institute for the study of higher mathematics.
