Whose requirement of proteins per kilogram body weight is greater - a 10 year old child or a 24 year old adult? Why? Why is 'per kilogram body weight' specified here?

Dear Student,

The protein requirement of a 10 year old child would outreach the protein requirement of an adult since the child is in his growing stage and would require protein in more quantity since proteins helps in growth of tissues and their repair.
Per kilogram body weight' further  indicates that it is dependent on our body weight . No two persons can have the same dietary requirements.
