WHT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEM OXIDATION OF ALKENE AND ALKYNEBY COLD AND HOT POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE?

Oxidation of alkene by the Cold KMnO​4 results into the formation of diols and hot KMnO4 will result in the cleavage of double bond.
On the other hand, oxidation of alkynes will result into the formation of carboxylic acids due to the cleavage of bonds.
