Why all minerals are ores but all ores are not minerals
Dear Student The statement which you have written is the reverse of the original i.e. All ores are minerals but all minerals are not ores. Minerals are naturally occurring chemical compounds in the earth's crust. Ores , on the other hand are are defined as minerals from which metals can be extracted economically and conveniently. Hence if a substance acts as ore then surely it will be a mineral. However being a mineral does not mean that it is an ore as the extraction of metal might note be economical. Example. Clay and bauxite both are minerals containing Aluminum. However Aluminium can be extracted economically from bauxite only. Thus bauxite is an ore but not clay. Hence it proves that all ores are minerals but not all minerals are ores
