why and how arctic fox changes its colour of fur in winter and summer season?

Arctic fox changes its colour of fur in winter and summer seasons in order to camouflage with their environment. In summers, they grow brown fur to blend in their surroundings which are earthy in colour, while in winters when the surroundings are white and snowy, they grow white fur to match the surroundings.

The colour of the fur gown is
controlled by hormones which are secreted under the effect of daylight shifts and temperature changes in different seasons. That is why, in winter, with low temperature and daylight period white fur growth is stimulated while in summers, with higher temperatures and daylight periods brown fur growth is stimulated.
