Why are acids not stored in metal containers? Containers/vessels made from which materials are safe to store acids?

Acidsd cannot be stored in metal containers as they will react with the metal, forming metal salt and liberating Hydrogen gas.

Containers made of glass  are ideal for storage of acid due to its chemical inertness.

Acid are not stored in metal containers because most acids react with iron and carbon that make the steel, making it soluble and over time it would rust out the container. Most acids can be stored in Teflon coated steel containers though, and even glass gets etched by acids over time.
