Why are Mosses and Liverworts unable to complete their sexual mode of reproduction in dry conditions ? Give reasons.

Dear student,
Liverwort and mosses do not have vascular tissues like xylem for conducting water. They can not survive in dry places, therefore they are found in wet places. They can not complete their life cycle in dry conditions because they need water to carry out their sexual reproduction as sperms are flagellate and require water to swim towards eggs to carry out fertilization.
