Why are nuclear fission reactions considered better than nuclear fusion reactions?

First of all, Nuclear fusion reaction is considered to be better than Nuclear fission.
In a nuclear fusion reaction, there is no nuclear waste left. Therefore it does not cause any health hazards and environmental pollution. Whereas nuclear fission reaction leaves behind nuclear wastes which are injurious to health and environment.
nuclear fusion reaction uses easily available material and produces much more energy than that produced during nuclear fission.
Also, fusing atoms together in a controlled way releases nearly four million times more energy than a chemical reaction such as the burning of coal, oil or gas and four times as much as nuclear fission.
