why are parenchyma tissues also known as plant packaging tissues?

Parenchyma is a living tissue composed of large, loosely packed, roughly rounded or cube shaped cells with thin cell walls, large sap vacuoles and large intercellular spaces.

In its unspecialized form it is called packaging tissue as parenchyma fills in spaces between other tissues. This packaging tissue is important in healing wounds and in regenerating plant parts.
