Why are people advised not to stand near a fast-moving train?

Dear Student,

When trains move with high velocity, the velocity of streams of air just around the train would be much higher than that of its far surroundings (following Bernoulli’s theorem). This creates a low-pressure region just around the train. If a man stands within this low-pressure area(in other words, too close to the moving train), the difference of pressure, will create a thrust, thus pushing the man towards the moving train. Thus, causing an accident. So, it is particularly dangerous to stand close to fast-moving trains
