Please find below the solution to the asked query

Molybdenum is a micronutrient which is required by plants as a component of enzyme nitrate reductase, which is necessary for metabolism of nitrate. Nitrate is the main form of nitrogen present in soils. Hence, deficiency of molybdenum in plants appears as if the plant is deficient in nitrogen. In absence of molybdenum, nitrate does not assimilate in soil and high levels of nitrate cause toxic effects to the plant.
