taller buildings are in greater danger because lightning always strikes that thing which is tallest in the area and so it is called if u r in a open ground and there is a heavy rain and r chances of lightning always lay down so the thing which is taller than u the lightning will fall on that.

Tall buildings are more closer to the clouds and thus it is an easy target and charges get induced on the building. Thus taller buildings are in greater danger of being struck by lighting.

The tall building is nearer to the ionosphere . When thunder cloud come nearer huge electric discharge occur between it and cloud and sparkling struck to it

When two unlike charges come near each other there is a heavy discharge between them. Huge amount of energy is released as lightning is produced. The buildings which are big and close to the clouds Get attracted by the air as it is positively charged. Therefore taller buildings are on greater danger if struck by lightning

(Induction occurs when two objects are closre to each other). The building thus acquire the opposite charge. If the build up of charge is very heavy then it easily flows from cloud to building
