why are the reactions of high molecularity are rare

because it is very rare for a large no. of molecules to collide simultaneously and be able to produce the product. This is because it is difficult to achieve the porper orientations required.

Most of the reaction involve one, two or at the most three molecules. The reaction 4 or more molecules are very rare.It can be explain on the basis of the kinetic molecular theory.According to this theory the rate of chemical reaction is proportional to the number of collisions taking place between the reacting molecules. The chance of simultaneous collision of reacting molecules will go on decreasing with increase in number of molecules. Thus the possiblility of three molecules colliding together is more less than in case of bimolecular collision.

Reaction involving high molecularity are rare dde to probability consideration that chance for collion b/w more than 3 reacting species are rare.

Can be explained by the kinetic molecular theory , which says that the rate of chemical reaction is influenced by collusion of reacting molecules . the probability of large number of molecules to collide simultaneously at right orientation to produce the product is low thus high molecularity reactions are rare
