Why blood is called a connective tissue?????

Dear student,

In multi-cellular organisms there are millions of cells. Most of these cells are specialized to carry out a few functions. Each specialised function is taken up by a different group of cells. Since these cells carry out only a particular function, they do it very efficiently. In human beings, blood flows to transport oxygen, food, hormones, and waste material and so on. It connects different tissues, for example, it collects carbon dioxide from the rest of the body to the lungs and oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. That is why it is called connective tissue.
